Make a small website about our kitchen remodel. It's for friends and family who keep asking how it's going. I've attached 12 photos and the 3D model. - Hide one small surprise, like a hover effect or a secret note, that never gets in anyone's way.
- At the very bottom, show the date of the last change and a short line: "made by Ioana".
- Pick two typefaces that suit the subject, with lines that are easy to read. Nothing that looks "default".
- Design it for phones first. Nothing is allowed to scroll sideways.
- Make it look good on both light and dark backgrounds.
- Show photos large, neatly aligned and carefully cropped.
- Resize and compress the photos for the web, and keep the whole site under 5 MB.
- Use HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript. No frameworks unless they're really needed.
- Load photos as I scroll, so the top of the page shows up instantly.
- Keep everything in the folder (fonts, scripts, photos), with nothing loaded from other sites, so it still works in ten years.
- Use relative links only, so the site works at any address.
- Make the main text readable even with JavaScript off.
- Strip location and phone data from the photos before publishing.
- No trackers, cookies, analytics or social media buttons.
- Add alt text to every photo, real headings, good contrast, and make everything work from the keyboard.
- Set the page language to English and spell any Romanian words with the correct diacritics (ș and ț with a comma, not a cedilla).

Pe la 2008 ne-am oprit din construit căsuțe pe internet și ne-am apucat să închiriem tarabe în mall-ul altora. Era cald, era gratis, era lume multă. Apoi mall-ul a început să decidă cine ne vede. Apoi a început să ne vândă.
Acum toată lumea zice că internetul s-a stricat. Noi nu credem asta. E în continuare cel mai generos lucru inventat vreodată: oricine poate pune ceva pe net și oricine îl poate găsi. Mall-ul a obosit, nu internetul.
